Welcome to the 2nd floor of HANBEI, an immersive cultural spot that suddenly appeared in the heart of Asakusa, Tokyo.
From downstairs, you’ll hear the rhythmic pounding of mochi being made, smell the warm roasted kinako in the air, and then—suddenly—find yourself surrounded by vibrant, thought-provoking art.
It’s a gallery. It’s an eat-in space. It’s a tourist destination. But more than anything, it’s a place where people connect.
Here, artists from all backgrounds—professional or amateur—showcase their work.
Japanese and Western influences, tradition and modernity, the everyday and the extraordinary all mix and mingle to stimulate your senses.
Most of our visitors come from overseas!
After admiring the art, they take a bite of fresh mochi and post it online, often asking with a smile:
“What is this place!?”

    We only ask for 20% if it sells.
    Low exhibition fees, high creative freedom.
  • Want an opening party? Let’s do it!
    After 5PM, you can host a toast.
    We even have a sake bar on the 4th floor—cheers to your new fans!

Exhibition Info

  • Fee: ¥30,000 (tax included) / 1 week
  • Hours : 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Closed on Wednesdays : (Gallery swap & reset day)
  • Location : 2nd Floor of HANBEI, Asakusa, Tokyo
  • Format : Solo or group exhibitions welcome!(Group shows are highly encouraged!)
  • Submission review required
    Just a quick check of your theme and works before confirming the booking.

Attention

  •  Please note: It can get messy!
    With lots of foot traffic and an eat-in space nearby, there’s a chance your artwork might get a little dusty or bumped.
    We appreciate your understanding that we can’t provide compensation for any damage.
  • Selling your work? Go for it!
    You’re welcome to sell your pieces. If something sells, we kindly ask for 20% of the sale.
    Other than that—feel free to express yourself and have fun! 🎨
